How to Get Free Stocking Stuffers

For most of us, stocking stuffers can be an after-thought when it comes to our holiday spending budget. They are also deceiving because at first it seems like it won’t be that expensive to fill them, but a stocking can easily eat up 20 or 30 dollars if you are not careful. Did you know you can get so many stocking stuffers for free if you know how to do it? Here are some tips on how to get stocking filled for practically nothing!

Check out gift card promotions. This time of year, many stores and restaurants offer a free small-value gift card when you buy a certain amount in gift cards. If you plan on buying gift cards for gifts for others anyway, the smaller amount one makes a great stocking stuffer for someone. You can also get free gift cards by making certain purchases at Target.

Check with your credit card for any rewards you have available. You may be able to cash in airline miles or reward points for dollars you can spend on other things to stuff stockings with. In years past American Express has offered cash back rewards on certain merchants when you shop certain days during the holiday season as well.

Use drugstore rewards. If you have any rewards available to your from Walgreens, Rite-Aid or CVS, now is the perfect time to use them to get small stocking stuffers such as lipsticks, lip glass, small tools and more.

Check out big department stores for promotions and free samples. these little samples of new fragrances or small gifts like cosmetic bags make excellent stocking stuffers for teens and adults. Many times, you can get these freebies by purchasing gifts you were going to anyway.

Use My Coke Rewards. If you are a soda fan, now is the time to cash in those My Coke Rewards. You can get things such as music downloads, magazine subscriptions and even e-gift cards.

Join Swagbucks. You can get free stuff like Amazon Gift cards, eBay gift cards and music downloads just for downloading the Swagbucks toolbar and using it to do your searching online. Just add up your points and cash them in to buy things. You can amp up your point amount by entering daily sweeps for more points or by doing surveys and extra stuff on the site as well.

Search online for freebies. You may be able to find freebies by searching online for free samples. This is also true for Facebook as many companies have gotten into the freebie market. Just be aware that if you want it to arrive on time, you should order your freebies before the first week of December as they often can take 2-3 weeks or more to arrive.

Use Coupons. You may be able to get free items if you pair them right with coupons. This is kind of hit or miss, but in many cases, even if you do pay something, it is just a few cents.
