Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Cookies Recipe

When my boys were growing up, we would visit family in the mountains of Arkansas at least once a year. They lived deep into the mountains where street maintenance ends and they maintained their own mountain roads.

The kids loved going to Arkansas to see their great aunt because she always had these old fashioned oatmeal cookies ready for them. They would eat their bellies full of oatmeal cookies the entire week were there. She knew the boys didn’t like raisins so she always made sure there were oatmeal cookies without raisins.

Before leaving from our first visit, I asked if she would share the recipe so I could make the cookies for the boys back home and she shared the recipe with me. It’s a simple recipe and the oatmeal cookies are perfect sweetness and texture. I know you will love them as much as we do!
