While I love a good chocolate cake, I also love a delicious vanilla cake too. The other day, I didn’t want just any ole’ cake…I wanted a sheet cake that wasn’t chocolate.
I put on my thinking cap, got in the kitchen, and decided I was going to make my very own Vanilla Texas Sheet Cake. But how?
Vanilla Milk Powdered Mix came to mind and I wonder if that would work!
Yep…it sure does and it makes the best cake ever! WOOHOO!!

Vanilla White Texas Sheet Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 stick butter
- ½ cup water
- 2 tbsp vanilla milk powder mix
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp baking soda
How to Make a White Texas Sheet Cake
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt together in a bowl and set aside.
- In a small pan, bring butter, water, and vanilla milk powder mix to a boil.
- Remove from heat immediately and add to dry ingredients.
- Mix well.
- Add sour cream, eggs, and baking soda to the mixture.
- Pour into a 13×9 cake pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
