Try a twist on the traditional chicken and dumplings and turn it into Green Chile Chicken & Dumplings with the help of HEB Primo Picks. Great family meal!
1jar Cookwell and Company Two-Step Green Chile Stew
12oz.package fully cooked Chicken Fajitas
14.5oz.Chicken Broth
2cupsHeavy Cream
2can Buttermilk Biscuitsuncooked
Instructions
Defrost chicken and dice into bite-sized pieces
Cut the raw biscuits into bite-sized pieces, set aside
In a large stockpot (my favorite stockpot), add the chicken, broth, cream and Green Chile Stew Mix
Stir, until the mixture comes to a boil
Drop biscuits into the boiling liquid. Cook, stirring every 2 minutes for a total of 8 minutes
Reduce heat and simmer for 5 more minutes.
Notes
The ingredients in this recipe were adapted to our families tastes. The original recipe called for 2 cups chicken broth and 1 can of biscuits. All the instructions are the same for either variation.
