Ingredients

shortening
softened

cup
brown sugar
firmly packed
1/2
cup
sugar
1
egg
1/4
cup
water
1
teaspoon
vanilla

all purpose flour

teaspoon
salt
1/2
teaspoon
baking soda
3
cups
quick oats
uncooked
Optional Add-Ins
Raisins

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together in a stand mixer until creamy.
Sift flour, salt, and baking soda together in a separate bowl.
Add the dry sifted mixture into the stand mixer with the creamed mixture and mix well.
Stir in the quick oats until well combined.
Use a cookie scoop to drop the cookie mixture on the parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Notes
For optional add ins, you can use 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups for any of the options.
